Building for the Future

If you look behind the Pastoral Center, you'll see a couple of newly renovated modular buildings. The exteriors have been recently renovated, and they have become part of Fr. Dale Craig's task to have classrooms, meeting spaces, and storage for St. Gertrude's pastoral needs. The interiors have yet to be finished, but they will be shortly.

The log cabin being built is part of SOLT's dream of having a future retreat center for priests' and retreat families. There is still a lot to accomplish, but the work will be done.

The property was originally donated to the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) by a former Mora parishioner. The property has served as a place to house recent SOLT volunteers to St. Gertrude's in Mora Valley. Thanks to our hardworking Pastor, Fr. Dale, and his helper, Alfredo, and several other volunteers working is progressing nicely.

The new school year is soon approaching. Registration for the Catechism & Confirmation Program is now open. Please stop by the Parish Office and get your children registered.

Catechism classes (1st - 8th grade) will begin on Tuesday, September 9th. There will be a Parent Orientation Meeting on Tuesday, September 2nd at the Parish Hall at 6:00 p.m.
Confirmation classes (9th - 12th grade) will begin on Monday, September 8th.
OCIA will also be starting on September 16th. Registration is also open to any adult who is in need of any/or all of their Sacraments. Please register at the Parish Office.

San Raphael Raffle Tickets

The San Rafael Mission is selling raffle tickets for their función on September 27th. If you would like to purchase tickets, please contact Gwen Gurule @ 505-603-5656 or Gina Pacheco @ 575-387-5429. There are lots of great prizes!

We are in need of Adorers & subs for our Adoration Chapel. This space is available due to the devotion and consistence of our Adorers. The hours we need covered are:

Mondays: 11-12 p.m. & 2-3 p.m.

Baptism: Parents may register their child for Baptism at the Parish Office. Please turn in necessary paperwork two (2) weeks prior to class. Classes are the first Friday of the month. Baptisms are done on the first Sunday of the month.
Marriage: Contact Parish Priest/Office at least six (6) months before the proposed wedding date.
Anointing of the Sick: Contact the Parish Priest/Office when a parishioner is seriously ill and/or scheduled for major surgery.

Adoration Chapel: The Chapel is now open 24 hours. Anyone who wants to devote an hour of adoration please contact Deacon Eloy Roybal at 505-948-6887.
Men's Group: Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
Charitable Giving: Charitable Giving is on Monday's from 10-12 & 1-3 p.m.
Commodities: Commodities will be distributed on Tuesday, September 9th.
Legion of Mary: Each of you are invited to grow in your faith. Join the Legion of Mary every Tuesday at 8:50 a.m. at the Pastoral Center. The Rosary Rally will take place every 2nd Saturday of the month at 12:00 noon by the Parish Hall. The Book Borrow will be every 2nd weekend of the month.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus Society will be praying the rosary at 8:30 a.m. on the first Sunday of every month.
WINGS: Women in Need of God meets every Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Pastoral Center.
Cemetery Plots: All plots need to be prearranged by Mission Mayordomos or the Church Office. Also, please clean and maintain your family members' plots.
St. Gertrude Yard Sale: The Yard Sale will be on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and continue every Friday until further notice.
We pray for the repose of the souls of + Morris Padilla & Begnina "Bennie" Vigil.

Registration for Religious Education Sacramental Classes and Confirmation has begun. You may pick up registration forms at the Pastoral Office or after Sunday Masses.

We are called to educate our youth in the ways of the Lord. If we do not, the world will educate them in other ways. We are in need of Catechists, an Assistant Catechist and Substitute Catechist, and people to help with snacks, etc.
If you feel called to help with our youth, we need you! We will provide training and support. You provide the love and presence.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adult Classes (OCIA Classes) is a process by which adults become full, participating members of the Catholic faith. Participants, known as catechumens go through a multi-step process of studying the Gospel, nurturing their relationship with God, becoming familiar with Catholic teachings and practices, professing their faith in Jesus Christ and the Church, and receiving the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation). The OCIA process also sets the foundation for the ongoing journey of the discipleship that lasts throughout one's life.

OCIA classes are on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Pastoral Center.

St. Gertrude's Church extends an invitation to all who wish to become members of the Catholic faith. Those who need to go through the OCIA process in order to become full members of the Catholic faith include:

Someone who is of another faith and wishes to convert to Catholicism.
An individual who was baptized in another Christian denomination and wishes to become a member of the Catholic faith.
Someone who was baptized in the Catholic Church, but never received the Sacraments of Communion & Confirmation.

If you or someone you know want to become full members of the Catholic Church, please come by the Pastoral Office and register for the OCIA program. Additionally, the classes will be open to anyone who wishes to "brush up" on their Catholic knowledge.
